For the private consultants or other ag business owners, what do you use for your accounting software? I’m currently using Quicken and like that I can keep track of all my banking (personal and business) on there but it doesn’t seem the best for invoicing.

I use QuickBooks online and seem to have really good luck with it. Very user friendly. Bank feeds work well and invoicing features are great!

I use Quickbooks Pro desktop.  Tracks hours , projects, clients and invoicing.

I would look into QuickBooks (since you are currently using Quicken) or Freshbooks or perhaps Honey book (has additional features). QuickBooks has an online version that I wasn't a fan of . . .but that was a few years ago) I use the desktop version.

I use Quickbooks Online, I purchase through my accountant.

I am using the Farm Credit software- AgExpert Analyst - which is no longer being updated other than payroll tables. There is a cloud version AgExpert Accounting - but it does not have all the features of the desktop version. The software is designed for Canadian farms so your Chart of Accounts is already structured for various enterprises - cattle, grain, etc. You can contact me through the app if you would like to discuss further.

I'm not sure if you know about the work order and invoicing functionality inside AGvisorPRO. But it might help.

What specifically seems to be lacking with the invoicing?  

I find with any program, it’s only as good as the setup.  Spending the time designing the setup is well worth the investment there!

Having said that, there are some functional limitations (ie fuel surcharge as a % of the total invoice wasn’t available yet on my last look).
