They farm because it’s more than work. More than yield charts and market prices. It’s identity. It’s heritage. It’s home. In Saskatchewan, farming isn’t just a profession — It’s a calling. A commitment. A legacy. And that’s why farmers farm.

It is in the name and if farmers did not farm, farming would be non-existent. Plants farm the soil for life, and farmers farm those plants to live, and create the nourishment for others to live as well. I see true farming as the sole of family and community, but the monetary value that is created is the blessing that goes beyond. What we do with our resources speaks volumes of what true farming is. Never forget the roots of family and agriculture that keep the sole fed.
