Can someone help explain this fertility deal? Family has been applying based on removal plus some to build p and k level. Here’s the test I did that’s stumping me. Soil test levels were n 15 ppm p1 39 ppm k 303 ppm s 7 ppm. We applied manure and commercial fert for a total of 150lbs N 237 lbs P 440 lbs K and 53 lbs S. We chopped silage this fall and I took a composite test and separately tested two wet spots that had no crop this year. 1 has always been a wet spot and the other has never been a wet spot until this year. The 1 year wet spot shows 13ppm N 31 ppm P1 205 ppm K and 53 ppm s. If we look at what was applied these levels should be significantly higher apart from nitrogen which leaches of course. The rest of the field that grew a 180 bushel corn crop and was chopped test the following. 9 ppm N 48 ppm p1 320 ppm k and 10 ppm sulfur. My question is why doesn’t the test show an elevated level of these nutrients if nothing was removed in the one test? Has me questioning a lot of what I’ve been told about fertility

the second year and the third year. I wouldn’t be too dismayed. I think you’ll pick this up in a future Test.
