What’s the deepest anyone has planted soybeans? I planted some march beans at a strong 2 for testing, looks like some are breaking necks. I was trying to Delay emergence to prevent them from April frost.

1.5 inches is general target in MS. Don’t chase the moisture too deep.
2.5" is what we planted last year. Planted 150,000 and lost approximately 50% with a final stand around 75,000. These were the best beans we have ever raised by over 10 bushels. Point is losing some is worth the cost.
3” but didn’t turn out well. 10+years of depth studies and 1-1.5” was best
