Cost-Effective Alternatives to 3-18-18 Fertilizer for Potassium-Packed Crops
Marshall, MN|Apr 7, 2024
I am trying to use an in furrow Potassium Hydroxide starter fertilizer. The goal is to try and get 20 pounds of potassium out this way. (Will be about 3/4” away from seed) are there any good affordable products out there other than 3-18-18 which I’m finding for around $6/ gallon?

Potassium thiosulfate (0-0-25 + 17s) is and option
(0-0-30) potassium cqrbonate
These are 2 liquid options available in some geographies, (CA for sure) or a NaChurs or specialty fertilizer supplier. Do a jar test if mixing with UAN solutions as potassium nitrate or sulfate crystals make form and cause plugging at high K:N ratios.
